In addition to winning GOLD at the Global Book Awards 2024, it won Best Non-Fiction Book at the American Book Festival 2025. 9 Wonder Words also earned the Bronze Medal at the Living Now Evergreen Book Awards 2025, Book Excellence Awards 2025, and the Readers’ Favourite International Book Awards 2025. Writer’s Digest described the book as “exemplary in its voice and writing style” and “unique.”
I’m thrilled that this work—created to honour the resilience and wisdom of communities around the world—is receiving such meaningful recognition. The principles, practices, and perspectives in 9 Wonder Words helped me through treatment for stage three cancer; an experience that led me to lose my baby, job, income, appliance, ability to speak, eat and move.
